COVID-19 REINTEGRATION PROGRAM: A Digital Toolkit for Students, Teachers, and Administrators
A digital course on respiratory hygiene for a safer reintegration post COVID-19.
You and your team will learn best practices for improving the health of the respiratory and immune system. These practices apply not only to COVID-19, but to maintaining a high standard of health and improved immunity in your workplace. You will learn simple and effective stress management techniques as well to help your team navigate common challenges together.
MODULE ONE: NASAL BREATHING AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Nasal breathing is the first line of defense for the immune system.
Nasal breathing helps to warm, moisten, and filter air before it enters the lungs. It helps to prevent colds. flu, allergens, hay fever, and irritable coughing. Nasal breathing should be practiced in public and within shared work spaces whenever possible.
MODULE TWO: NASAL BREATHING AND REDUCING THE SPREAD OF AIRBORNE PATHOGENS.
Nasal breathing produces nitric oxide-a potent antiviral agent.
Nitric oxide is produced in the paranasal sinuses and serves as a potent antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal agent. This helps to prevent viruses from entering the lungs. Nasal breathing is our body's way of filtering air and preventing the transmission of airborne pathogens.
MODULE THREE: STRENGTHENING THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM.
Learn the 3 Keys to a Robust Respiratory System
A strong and healthy respiratory system is our best defense again respiratory illness. Learn how strengthening the diaphragm, improving carbon dioxide tolerance, and increasing mobility in the ribcage can better equip our bodies to use oxygen.
MODULE FOUR: PROPER USE OF MASKS AND ADDRESSING COMMON PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED
Spending a few minutes in masks when going to the grocery store is not the same as teaching or learning in a mask for an entire school day.
Learn how to train-up your carbon dioxide tolerance to make mask wearing more comfortable!
MODULE FIVE: STRESS MANAGEMENT AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Stress suppresses immune function. Learn how to better manage stress through simple breathing exercises.
Stress is an inevitable part of experiencing a pandemic. The bodies response to stress can be greatly impacted through breathing exercises that lower the heart rate, calm the nervous system, and prepare the body for rest.
MODULE SIX: IMPROVING MENTAL AND PHYSICAL WELLBEING THROUGH BETTER BREATHING
Looking beyond COVID-19 and into the future of our health and longevity.
Breathing has come into the spotlight of the health, wellness, and medical community over the past decade. New research into the respiratory system highlights the brain and body benefits of better breathing. In this module we will show you how to improve your mental and physical preparedness through a simple 4 step program.

What educators and coaches are saying about the Breathe to Perform program
The Breathe to Perform professional development was incredible! A must for anyone in education interested in improving student performance, athleticism and social emotional wellness. The BTP Team delivered a breath work program that was hands on, interactive and easy to implement. This innovative and scientifically supported approach to brain based learning supports our District's larger mission of supporting both the educational and social emotional needs of all students. David and Lex were professional, personable, and accommodating to all our staff and student needs. The Breathe to Perform protocol was implemented in our high school athletics as well as our middle and high school special education departments. If you’re interested in helping students reclaim their mental wellness and physical health the Breathe to Perform team has the know how and tools to support you. Truly a knowledgeable, timely, and necessary experience.
Christopher Della Fave, Director of Innovative Programming, Hoboken Public Schools, NJ
"We've had David and his team to our campus twice. He's done a seminar with one of our teams and has also spoken to several members of our staff and faculty. His knowledge on breathing patterns and their relationship to stress and energy levels as well as athletic performance was amazing. Everything David spoke about could then be translated into practical applications, i.e. breathing drills for our athletes to improve their respiratory rate during competition or drills to help our students, staff, and faculty calm down and relieve stress symptoms. My goal as I continue to speak with David is to have him to our campus several more times to spread his word to as many members of our campus community as possible. We feel very fortunate to have Breathe to Perform so close to us and are extremely thankful for the knowledge and insight David has provided us."
Mike Seltzer, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Bates College
“David and Lex were dynamic. Our group of top athletes and coaches were not just informed but also guided into the experience of performance readiness. The techniques and conversation on nasal breathing have continued on our campus months later, resulting in more athletes, coaches, and teams finding this impactful performance edge”
Neal Anderson, Assistant Athletic Director, Norwich University
"This is definitely something that our schools need. I believe the work that Breathe to Perform is doing can help students to understand their bodies and and learn to control them in order to perform in any given situation that comes their way. This is definitely one part of the whole child that all of our kids need to know.
Anthony Carrano, NYC Zone President, NYS Association for Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance
