A digital course on respiratory hygiene for a safer reintegration post COVID-19.
You and your team will learn best practices for improving the health of the respiratory and immune system. These practices apply not only to COVID-19, but to maintaining a high standard of health and improved immunity in your workplace. You will learn simple and effective stress management techniques as well to help your team navigate common challenges together.
MODULE ONE: NASAL BREATHING AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Nasal breathing is the first line of defense for the immune system.
Nasal breathing helps to warm, moisten, and filter air before it enters the lungs. It helps to prevent colds. flu, allergens, hay fever, and irritable coughing. Nasal breathing should be practiced in public and within shared work spaces whenever possible.
MODULE TWO: NASAL BREATHING AND REDUCING THE SPREAD OF AIRBORNE PATHOGENS.
Nasal breathing produces nitric oxide-a potent antiviral agent.
Nitric oxide is produced in the paranasal sinuses and serves as a potent antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal agent. This helps to prevent viruses from entering the lungs. Nasal breathing is our body's way of filtering air and preventing the transmission of airborne pathogens.
MODULE THREE: STRENGTHENING THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM.
Learn the 3 Keys to a Robust Respiratory System
A strong and healthy respiratory system is our best defense again respiratory illness. Learn how strengthening the diaphragm, improving carbon dioxide tolerance, and increasing mobility in the ribcage can better equip our bodies to use oxygen.
MODULE FOUR: PROPER USE OF MASKS AND ADDRESSING COMMON PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED
Spending a few minutes in masks when going to the grocery store is not the same as teaching or learning in a mask for an entire school day.
Learn how to train-up your carbon dioxide tolerance to make mask wearing more comfortable!
MODULE FIVE: STRESS MANAGEMENT AND THE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Stress suppresses immune function. Learn how to better manage stress through simple breathing exercises.
Stress is an inevitable part of experiencing a pandemic. The bodies response to stress can be greatly impacted through breathing exercises that lower the heart rate, calm the nervous system, and prepare the body for rest.
